A university project to re-design packaging for an album of my choice. I chose Black Sabbath's iconic album, Paranoid, as I wanted to improve the existing packaging that the band believes doesn't link to the name of the album. The re-design portrays a vortex of distorted eyes, reflecting the never-ending effect of mental health and one's distorted sense of reality. I made the outer and inner sleeve and labels for the record, having the design be maintained across each item. Using clear foiling, I was able to create typography for the front and back cover that is only visible under direct light. The outcome of this project encouraged me to consider the physical aspects of design, making me think about how the physicality of what I create could help in producing work that is more engaging with audiences. Which I believe it achieved.
